Brent Gordon, CAC-AD, is passionate about helping individuals navigate recovery
from substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. He is currently
completing his graduate training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty
University while actively working in the behavioral health field. Brent has experience
supporting clients across multiple levels of care, including residential, partial
hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs, where he provides
individual counseling, facilitates therapeutic groups, and works collaboratively with
treatment teams and families.
Brent approaches counseling with compassion, curiosity, and a deep respect for each
person’s story. He believes that meaningful change begins in a safe, supportive
relationship where individuals feel understood and valued. His work integrates
evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-
informed care, and family systems perspectives to help clients better understand
themselves, build practical coping skills, and strengthen their relationships.
Brent views recovery as more than just overcoming addiction. Recovery is a process of
rediscovering identity, rebuilding connection, and creating a life that feels meaningful
and sustainable. He strives to create an environment where clients feel encouraged to
explore their experiences honestly while developing the confidence and tools needed
for lasting growth.
Brent often tells clients:
“You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin healing. My role is to walk
alongside you, help you understand what you’re facing, and support you as you build a
life that feels stable, meaningful, and connected.”
Outside of his clinical work, Brent enjoys spending time outdoors, kayaking, playing
guitar, and finding creative ways to integrate reflection, connection, and personal growth
into everyday life. Brent considers it a privilege to walk alongside individuals on their
recovery journey and is committed to helping clients discover their strength, resilience,
and capacity for change.
