Background

Experience and approach.

Brent Gordon, CAC-AD, is passionate about helping individuals navigate recovery from substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. He is currently completing his graduate training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University while actively working in the behavioral health field. Brent has experience supporting clients across multiple levels of care, including residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs, where he provides individual counseling, facilitates therapeutic groups, and works collaboratively with treatment teams and families.

Brent approaches counseling with compassion, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person’s story. He believes that meaningful change begins in a safe, supportive relationship where individuals feel understood and valued. His work integrates evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and family systems perspectives to help clients better understand themselves, build practical coping skills, and strengthen their relationships.
